Aquatica: Shrimp Forest is a hands-on aquascape workshop in Toronto where you’ll create your own thriving freshwater shrimp ecosystem inside a premium glass vessel.
Hosted in the beautiful Allan Gardens (Children’s Conservatory), this unique experience combines creativity, nature, and education in a bright glasshouse surrounded by lush tropical plants. Throughout the workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of aquascaping, freshwater shrimp keeping, and simple long-term maintenance, making it perfect for beginners and plant lovers alike.
Each guest will design a their aquascape using natural stone, and an expanded selection of premium aquatic plants generously sponsored by Tropica. Every aquarium is unique, allowing you to create a layout that reflects your own style and creativity.
Important: This aquarium is designed to support freshwater shrimp, but adding livestock is completely optional. If you choose to keep shrimp, please note that freshwater shrimp are not included with your workshop ticket. Your aquarium will need 2 to 3 weeks to establish before shrimp can be safely introduced. During the workshop, you’ll learn how to set up your aquarium and how to know when it’s ready for shrimp.

Cancellations made at least 7 days before the event are eligible for a partial refund. Due to limited seating and workshop preparation, cancellations made within 7 days of the event are non-refundable. Tickets may be transferred to another guest with advance notice.
